Interview With a Writer/Blogger/Software Developer : Nibha Gupta

Ink on paper is as beautiful to me as flowers on the mountains — God composes, why shouldn’t we? ~Terri Guillemets

In the month of July 2017, I had the pleasure of meeting a few bloggers from our online blogging group, Blogarhythm (B-A-R). The wonderful bloggers I met are Rekha Dhyani, Shilpa Garg, Shalini Baisiwala and Nibha Gupta. I’d posted the interview with the prolific writer Rekha Dhyani on my blog last month. Today I welcome the effervescent Nibha Gupta to my blog. She is a blogger/writer/poet/software developer…

Nibha Gupta

Nibha Gupta is a software developer by education and a word weaver by the night. She is a Sagittarian introvert who often pours out her heart with ink on paper. She dares to fly with the words of her imagination. Though most of her thoughts can be read on her blog, yet her few stories and verses have found place into anthologies like Crumpled Voices, Blank Space and a few magazines, both online and offline. With her feminist beliefs and the power of pen, she wishes to make world a better place. Human psychology fascinates her and she is on a constant lookout for inspiring stories.

What are the many caps you wear? Introduce us to Nibha

Introduction has to be the most toughest question one could be asked,  I think, specially to a writer who tends to be an introvert! Many of you (as in my readers) know me as a blogger/writer/poet etc. Then there are many people in real life who don’t know this side of me at all.

Other than writing, I can often be found indulging in the love of colors, DIY crafts, photography, travel and exploring new and old places.

What’s the story behind your blog? Was it easy starting out? Challenges you faced?

Well, time just flies so fast. I still remember this blog was born out of suggestions from friends, when they read my poems. I didn’t find the idea very interesting. May be I wasn’t ready yet to share what I felt with the whole world out there. But the blog was born and just like a new-born baby it slept for quite long intervals initially before it actually bloomed to life. After more than few months did I realize that my blog deserved my love just like I needed some Me-time. It was then that I found some blogging groups and joining them was one step I took from where there was no turning back. Since then it has been a constant learning process, that blogging is not just writing and putting it on the blog  but so much more goes into it!

Could you share your thoughts on perseverance and commitment?

As per me, if a person is doing something there should be 100% commitment for it. If you see yourself falter in it, look within what needs to be changed to make it move in perfect rhythm again. There’s nothing like partial perseverance I think, if we really want to get somewhere, we keep walking towards it. It doesn’t really matter how big or small steps we take, it’s important that we don’t stop!

What kind of content do you create and who’s your target audience? What are your top 3 favorite blog posts from your blog? Kindly put in links to the same too

The content I create tends to fall mostly into three categories:

Fiction

Poetry

My thoughts/experiences about life

Apart from them, there can be anything to everything you can find out there, whatever catches my fancy.

Okay, if I thought Introducing myself wasn’t tough enough, finding my 3 favorite blog post is even tougher! How do I choose??

Randomly picking up three:

Forgive me other blogposts! 🙂

At a time when a lot of content is being created on a daily basis, how do you carve your niche in the blogosphere?

Well, as compared to the accomplished bloggers in the blogosphere, I still stand at the very foothill of the ladder and there is still a long way to go! I am still trying to inculcate those habits into my writings and blogging behavior. I think to carve your niche; you just need to be yourself. Sticking to just a few categories might do the trick for some but it also involves many other things like what you write touches the readers and that’s what I try to focus on; being authentic, being me.

What are your long term plans for your blog? Any special word or thought you’d like to share with our blogging community.

I recently shifted to my own domain, few months back so I plan to stay here as long as I can, even if it’s just a few posts in a while. My blog is more of a friend to me to whom I return to whenever I feel like, it’s like home to my tangled thoughts.

Just a thought I would like to share with the community:

Just keep writing, let nothing else come in the way. No comments/likes/dislikes/statistics can change the feeling when you spill your thoughts and hit the Publish button!
Write for that feeling of freedom and for nothing else.

Thank you Nibha, you have been a wonderful guest blogger/writer. I wish you all the best for inking expressions, may it grow from strength to strength. Happy writing…

I met Nibha once and she is the sweetest person ever. She is an introvert and takes her own time to get comfortable, yes. But her writing shows us facets of Nibha which perhaps she herself doesn’t. More power to your pen, Nibha!:)

    1. Thank you Mayuri and Sulekha for your heart warming words!! Having people like you around keeps on motivating me to keep writing! 🙂

And I think I have told you earlier and I’d like to share it again that you are an amazing story teller. Loved your short stories during the AtoZ. You must write more often. Looking forward to read more often from you. 🙂
