All The Time in The World
How do you approach the wheel of time —
do you ride her
stick your foot in her gears
ignore her slow grinding
write poems of her elusive movement
sync yourself with her dance
or cry out in the cold night of her injustice & indifference?
~Terri Guillemets
Empty Nest
I always thought I had
All the time in the world
My babies and I and
Their handsome dad.
We were inseparable
Lived a happy life
Passing years brought
Joys incomparable.
There was lots to do
Dance recitals
Football matches
Some days even two
We stuck together
Managed to pull through
Our little family
Cheered for each other
Now the house is silent
The Babies all grown up
One has flown the coop
The other planning to.
We sit on the porch swing
And reminisce about the past
Just then the phone rings
Our son is coming home, at last.

My resource is TIME and I did use it well. But is it ever enough? We always want some more time, a few more moments to make more memories. What about you?
I am taking part in The Write Tribe Festival of Words #6‘.
7 prompts for 7 days.
Day 2 (6 Aug/Sun) – Share about a resource/s you have or use
That’s such a heartfelt post! Have a great time with K. Lots of love and hugs to you ♥
Thanks, Shilpa. Counting days now 🙂
Loved your take on the prompt. Time is an important resource and the time we spend with our family and kids is the most invaluable. When I am browsing my phone while my 6 year old son tells me his long tales, the moment I realize I am not all ears I switch off the wifi because he may not be telling me his stories always.
Yes, we must listen to our children. They grow up so fast:) thanks.
Have a fun time with your Son. You have good memories to show that your resource has been used well. 🙂
Thanks, Bhavya.
Aren’t we mothers greedy for that one more moment with our children?
We are 🙂 the bond between mothers and her children is so precious. Fathers love their kids too but the mothers treasure them.
This is the one resource I don’t manage well: I need to be more disciplined.
Damyanti. I must learn from you. I need help in time management:)
Sigh time…I always want more of it to do the things I love!
Don’t we all? 🙂
Your poem captures this beautifully. 🙂 time is so precious… Well said 🙂
Ishieta, lovely name. Thanks
The empty nest syndrome.????? At some point in life, I am sure I would probably feeling similar emotions… Until then capture moments in the heart , cause as you say time isnt going to stay forever.. SIgh!!!
Ramya, writing saved me. We need to keep busy doing something we love.
