Oh, poor parents of successful children.
Abstain from loving them more than yourself.
One day they will walk out along with their brethren
Leaving you rotting on the bottom shelf.
They unsee your broken specs.
And unhear your feeble voice
For them, love is just your cheques
Loving you is not their choice.
To solve this mystery, I’m truly trying
Why Generous parents have selfish kids?
The brats absolve them selves of wrong doing.
They scramble run, hide, and go off the grids.
I wish they would come back to their senses
It’s never too late to mend the fences.

Aah! The silent sorrow many parents endure. This poem powerfully expresses the heartbreak of neglected parents, a reality many face but few speak about.
How can some children abandon their parents after becoming successful? Wonder what went wrong where that we hear such cases. Hope all parents are loved and cared for by their children in their golden years.
This one touched a chord in my heart…very real and very sad indeed! I too wonder how such children become “inhuman” even when they have such amazing examples and role models in the parents themselves.
