My Terrace Garden – A Sonnet

What do plants on my terrace talk about?

Hope they say some nice things about old me.

They all look healthy and pretty no doubt.

One would think it was all because of me.

Forgive me for this credit that I take

He tends to them with affection and care

Watching them bloom I feel glad for his sake

In weather foul and fair he’s always there.

They are fortunate he is their saviour

Stands guard over them in all the seasons

When questioned about his behaviour

He is ready with a list of reasons

Every garden needs a caring keeper

Who trims the weeds but also digs deeper

  1. This is such a heartwarming and beautifully expressed tribute! Every thriving garden indeed has a devoted keeper and your words capture that beautifully!
