I Walk With Invisible People

I walk with invisible people

While out walking in the park I see

All those who have passed by me

The spirit world envelopes me

All my departed loved ones I see

I follow my dad who left ages ago

His strides as brisk as ever

My mom trudges behind like so

Their bond unchanged forever

Footsteps behind me make me look

A dear cousin is trying to catch up

Seeing his smile is all it took

My dam of emotions welled up

An aunt, dear to me walked ahead

I remembered her welcoming smile

Seeing her retreating back I was sad

She’s been gone ages, it’s been a while

My parents and In-laws are up there

Enjoying in that heavenly place

Whenever we have a get together

We say a little prayer, whisper grace.

Mummy and daddy, if you can hear me

Send me a shooting star, an asteroid

Can you call this living when I can’t see you

And of your love my heart is Devoid?

Whenever I feel a bit sick and unwell

I want to rush into your loving embrace

As I lay burning up in fever, do tell

Who’ll feel my forehead, caress my face.
