Milestone
“A stone set up beside a road to mark the distance in miles to a particular place.”
“An action or event marking a significant change or stage in development.”
Milestones along the highway announce how far we are from our destination and how much longer it will take us to get there. They also let us know how much distance we have travelled to get to them. While on the road, I keep myself occupied by reading the miles written on these stones, it gives me a time frame to calculate, plan and map my schedule accordingly.
What are milestones? Slabs that mark your life’s achievements and let you know that you have arrived at your destination? I see emotional milestones in life; these are my soul’s temporary resting place.
How wonderful it would be if we had emotional milestones along our journey too.
When approaching teenage years, the milestone would read – twelve innocent years gone, seven agonizing years ahead.
In our twenties- You are in the mature zone.
Thirties- You are still beautiful.
Forties- Naughty times ahead.
Fifties- You can still be naughty, as you look only forty.
Sixties- You are officially old.
Seventies- No Comments;)
