My journal of Smiles :) …Lucks

Friends, this is my treasure chest, where I keep my riches. What are these valued possessions? My smiles!!!

Things and people that make me smile everyday are my most prized gems.

What made me happy today?

1. A photograph of my mother, enjoying her walk with my brother and his family at their place near Porbandar, Gujrat. To see her walking after being so seriously ill, was a great moment. This is the first time, since her illness in April this year, that she has traveled out of Bombay.

2. I visited the Shilpotsav yesterday, and found these pretty orange cups and fell in love with them instantly. Their unique shape intrigued me and I had to get them home.

3. I cracked open these three perfect and whole walnuts successfully, early in the morning and felt so happy to have done it. πŸ™‚

These are a few of the things which made my day…

What are your lovely moments? Share with me and spread the cheer…

I was able to bring copies to my Editor-in-chief.

Then when I came home, I had a hearty lunch while everybody was out.

I saw one of my Satur-dates and told her that we have classes this afternoon. And we shall go together for Mass later.

I saw Roy Durham's post that his book will be published :D…double smiles for that πŸ™‚

I was able to make a letter to Sancheeta, I hope she replies soon.

I have time to write the author of the book I read.

    plus…lots more πŸ™‚

Your page is filled with blessings Sulekha love :)…THANK YOU for the space!

  3. Only a sunlit soul like yours can find beauty in such 'ordinary' things like walnut's heart. A lesson learnt. Thanks.

Then finding your post, seeing your mom recovering, the cute cups, and those perfect walnuts that look like little brains, all made me remember to be grateful and to enjoy the little things.
Thank you for that this morning.

  8. Smiling here. At christmas time one of our customs is to buy a large pack of nuts. Throughout this festive period i try so hard to crack open my 2 favourites without breaking the nut – i'm yet to succeed with either the brazil or walnut. This year i'll crack it right.

  9. Sweet & Simple — This made me smile from ear to ear. The quote at the end is perfect! Also, inspires me to look at my day through a similar lens — thank you! Blessings!

  10. Sulekha I clearly remember commenting..anyway here I go again..First of all I loved seeing your pictures…and it really made a difference to my day, teaching me to enjoy the simple things life has to offer. My day had nothing unique..just another lazy Sunday, the only highlight being a hair spa..

  11. I've smiled today…laughed, snuggled with my little one's, hugged & told my guy that I love him before he left to run an errand and I took a nap.

I read this and got teary eyed because I know the feeling of watching someone sick…and when I saw the sweet, sweet picture of your Momma tears came to my eyes.

Thank you for reminding me of all that I am grateful to have in my life!

  12. Smiling at simple things… Today I cleaned my office and cleared out a bunch of stuff I no longer need. It was hard work, yet rewarding. Still, a simple act.

Love the photo of your mom! I wish her well!

  13. I love the photo of your mother and glad to know she is doing better. Aging parents is a whole new play book, isn't it?

Yes, I've smiled today – a lot! The cups you bought made me smile – they are the neatest ones I've ever seen.

And, it is, sometimes, the simplest things that bring us the best smiles.

    Blessings!
